Personally, my issue is not that Maya lied about Ruka but how he answered Nemu. It's like Nemu is not entitled to ask or doubt. The "If you already knew yet why are you still asking?" in an angry and condescending tone is what I am pissed off about. But if we evaluate the reasons he lied, you are right, it's understandable but with Nemu's personality, being truthful is the better option.

But did not explain the Ruka issue himself. It's not just about being rude. Plus what he apologized for was the screaming or the high tone he used on Nemu. He should be apologizing for somewhat insulting Nemu for asking or for being upset. He was right to apologize but his apology is not enough. He did not understand that Nemu is not angry for being with Ruka but for lying about it, fucking twice. He is still cocky as fuck after their fight.

It's not JUST about fictional characters. It's analyzing the situation, the scene and the characters. There's psychological and moral aspects in that scenario alone and shouldn't stress you that much. It's simply breaking down not just Nemu's feelings and actions but Maya as well. I am not attacking you nor your morals or whatever. You are not wrong with your analysis about Maya lying about Ruka the first time to avoid upsetting Nemu. BUT the guy found out and got upset nevertheless because he lied. Nemu confronted him already, why make up something instead of just admitting that it was a misjudgement to lie? It's because Maya insists that his decision to lie was right and for Nemu's sake.
Ha! See! Maya lied to protect Nemu and and last chapter when I pointed it out and said "it's nt right but I understand why he lied" bitches were all salty on me and talked real shit. GUESS WHAT NOW? The truth is not always the better. Now Nemu will suffer and I was right.
Now you'll all understand my point.
