What I think the seme is getting at is that others most likely don't see him as the "burden" he sees himself as. Because he sees himself as such a burden he does things that help reinforce the idea that he can't live "normally" because hes disabled.
I can definitely get behind self-empowerment and not letting obstacles stop you, even reality-checks, but phrasing is super important and he heckin' bungled that
