Main character- Wei WuXian (birth name- Wei Ying. Title- Yiling Patriarch)
A gay guy named Mo XuanYu sacrificed his own body and soul to WWX (who died 13 years ago) to get revenge for him by killing his (MXY) family which was the mother, father, cousin and one of the servants.
The people in white clothes are from a Sect (Lan Sect). They're at the Mo village to help with the corpses. There's this flag that WWX created and it attracts corpses. The chubby cousin took one of them and whoever holds one of those will become like living target. He attracted the left arm of a fierce corpses (a strong corpses basically) which then killed the mo family and one of the servants, then tried to detach anyone's arm and replace it with its own to see if it's the arm's body. WWX (who can control corpses because he's cool like that) tried to save the people and just when he was about to whistle to command the corpses (which might cause suspicion) Lan Wangji (also called Lan Zhan or HanGuang Jun) came in time to save everyone. He is the seme btw :). WWX has a history without him and didn't want to face him so he left the scene. He found this donkey which he later named 'Little Apple'. As he travels, people were still talking about him and using the stuff he created (the flag and the compass of evil) (⌒▽⌒)

He died tho... so he was human and is now “a sinister ghoul” but really just a dead guy in a living persons body. Sort of. The living body is his now. Which sort of makes him humanish again?
How I see it is he's basically human since his soul is now in the person's body. Since his living soul goes into a living human then he's now a living person despite his original dead body. So yeah confusing soul stuff XD
