Exactly, there's a certain way in which it relate to religious history, but the actions of religions in these manga/manhwas is more in line with cults. There is a difference between the two but they can go hand in hand. But it's all about the authors portrayal and preferences. But like I said, it's becoming a cliche.

At least there is no harem or ecchi. If the mc was a male you know there will be. So for me religion is better than ecchi and harem.

Same would take a crazy religion over harem
