I feel like I’m in the minority when I say that I actually like the fact that the story isn’t focusing on the main characters 100% of the time.
I’ve read too many straight up romance stories where the only thing that seems to matter in the narrative is the main character’s relationship. It’s really refreshing to read a story where stuff happens to people who aren’t the main pair. It makes the world feel bigger and more realistic.
