    true

I understand that but when youre reading a story it would be nice if the character has a definitive motive. Otherwise the plot point starts getting annoying instead of interesting

Sometimes I wonder if people who says that "some are just assholes" even understand what you mean when you say that a character is poorly written.
So some people are just assholes... and that still means including a character like that is a poor choice.

So writing realistically is bad? Just because someone doesn't have a reason to do something, doesn't necessarily mean it's bad writing, at most you can say you don't like that kind of character and you'd rather they have clear motives for their actions. Saying they're poorly written isn't accurate, you just don't like it. Besides it's still too soon to know how things will turn out. What you like and what other people like to read sometimes will clash, and that's fine...saying it's a poor choice it's your opinion tho. I think the realism behind the character just being an asshole is great, I've dealt and still deal with people like that, so I can understand the main characters feelings much better than if he has a clear cut motive...but then again that's my opinion. I do understand what the OP said tho, I was just giving my two cents on it ^^ please don't take this (huge, like wtf is wrong with me lol) text the wrong way!! I'm not trying to start a fight or anything, just wanted you to see things from my side i guess...sorry tho!!

Well, of course I'm only talking from my own viewpoint, and I've noted yours.
I don't think it's actually a matter of writing realistically. Even the worst of assholes has still led a life, and there are reasons as to why they have become such. And sure, we don't know yet if he's going to get some kind of backstory, or if he's just gonna stay an empty shell - but the point is, he is just that as of now, an empty, and, most importantly, a BORING friggin shell.
There can be boring characters in a series to act as catalysts for other characters, and that is fine, as long as they don't stick around overly long, because then they just become annoying. And sure, you CAN of course let there be annoying characters in your series, but how much attention do you really want to give them without sullying the entire series?
This is getting ridiculous. Suh is only an annoyance. His only purpose, yet, as a character is to be in the way. He's supposed to be a catalyst for drama, because the premise of the story doesn't allow for drastic changes in the pace or in the lives of the characters. This is about the only way to let the story go on for longer than what its premise initially promised.

Can't argue with this tbh, this storyline is getting dragged for a bit longer than it should...and the conflict can end up being annoying, because it's the same thing every time without things actually getting resolved. So yeah I completely agree with you on that lol
Still i think so far the reason why we havent seen things from his perspective, is because the pov of this webtoon is on the 2 main characters...i think? Either way what I was trying to say, is that the character itself being what it is, isn't exactly bad writing? Cause we don't always see a person's reasoning...but yeah repetitiveness without resolve just gets annoying with anything. Thanks for actually responding and talking about it with me ^^ i really hope u don't think i was being annoying or anything :/ you're awesome!

Yes, that's right, this is about the two main characters, and every other character is a tool to show us different aspects of them. This includes Suh. What's troublesome here is the amount of attention he gets, because it's contradictory to how undeveloped he is as a character. And since we don't get enough of a counter-reaction from the main characters to make up for it, it leads the readers to only find him annoying.
The point is, Suh just being annoying to us sullies the overall reading experience, and thus the series as a whole, and that's why I think he's a bad character.
    You're not annoying, don't worry! :)

I guess I'm just used to reading characters like this and way worse, so I don't mind as much by now? But you make a very good point...still the rest of the story is good enough for me to not care, if the story wasn't as strong maybe it would annoy me and I'd drop the story...but so far I can deal with it. We'll see how far they're going to drag this without resolving it tho, because at some point it's just unecessary drama and I don't like that :/ anyway thanks for this awesome (in my pov lol) conversation :3 i had fun haha

Yes, these things are common, but I'm quite critical and I put every individual work against very high standards, so while I'm used to them as well, I can't help but take notice.
For me, the story is still worthwhile to read, as well.
    No, thank you :>
