So so...

I love the mains characters but...it's necessary rape? That's the part i didn't like. This kind of things DON'T HAPPEN IN REAL LIFE. Maybe for a trauma caused by the criminal to his victim.
But i like so much the story, i just going to forget tha awful part of rape

I agree. When I reread, I try to skip the first chapter/volume hahaha

honey, this is fiction... a lot of you people here keep forgeting that. rape does not look like that in real life, it's not as hot and it's much more traumatizing. none this is real. the characters aren't real, the situations they're in are not real and all of this was made up by someone. if you'd like to read about people in life like situations doing life like things maybe mangas aren't for you.

I know what you mean, but is neccesary always the same situation in yaoi? It's like a rule you know? I love yaoi, i know is fiction, i like rape in porn but not in something that includes romance. I read a lot and i love slice of life. It just an opinion because sometimes i can't stand this "rule". Nothing else. And sorry for my english :)

I find that this line of thinking gets old real fast. Telling someone not to read manga just because they don't like how romanticised and prevalent rape is in this genre is the wrong way to approach this situation. Some readers like rape tropes, others don't. There is no issue with those that do, however this trop in itself is heavily represented in so many yaoi mangas it's disconcerting. Instead of telling people to just get over it because it's 'fiction', try to understand why they see the unecessarity of having such a trope in this story. Why can't authors just work their way around a manga couples without having rape be the basis of their relationship? Is it so wrong to wonder why there can't just be 'healthier' relationships? Why does yaoi have to be 90% rape? Like I said, some people enjoy it and others don't. Just because it's fiction doesn't mean it can't make others uncomfortable. Does that apply to things such as child sex abuse? Would you be okay with the majority of yaoi manga having some form of this in, and just tell people it's fiction, so they have to accept it? Personally, yaoi is a fun genre for me to read, but because of my own trauma it's painful to see just how much rape is in it. I know fiction from reality, but that doesn't mean it doesn't bother me still. I get invested in the characters, and I feel empathy when they're hurt - just as any other fictional situation (betrayal, murder, other unfortunate circumstances). I apologise for such a long reply, I hope I haven't offended you or anyone else either. Like I said, I have absolutely no issue with people who enjoy it, but there are thousands of others that don't. It's unfair to those to have to read it everywhere, and it's unfair that they are told to just get over it, because the situations aren't real. Humans are empathetic creatures. No matter if it's real life or not, some can relate and hurt for a character on their behalf.

No matter if it's real life or not, some can relate and hurt for a character on their behalf. The rape, much like many other mangas, in this particular story was unecessary. The development of relationships and content could have happened without the rape thrown in there. It's a shame. I really did enjoy the story at the end, but the start really threw me off and I won't pretend to like it just because it's manga.

This was well said, I want to copy and paste this to every person saying things are "just fiction" to invalidate an opinion. Very good response!

Truest words in the yaoi galaxy. Thank you.
Some people put so much effort into justifying how it's just fiction but don't get the point. The unnecessary use of romanticized rape as a plot device makes mediocre fiction. And anyone should be aloud to point out the flaws in works of fiction...

I agree with this! While I do think it's okay to use the "it's just fiction" excuse when for example people who like rape in BL manga are being attacked for liking it, I don't get why they get so defensive when people criticize the rape trope. They should just have a meaningful discussion instead of immediately assume that we don't like it because we can't distinguish fiction from reality. I like a lot of things that are very far off from reality but I still don't like the whole rape trope.
