are you joking? you do realize that people can't give consent when they're unconscious, right?

to add on, just because he didn't push off the uke doesn't mean he consented to the act. he was so groggy and confused when he woke up that he couldn't even tell that the naked person on top of him was a guy.

Because they're raping an unconscious person that, by being unconscious, can't give their consent.

Please go over to the Jealousy page and inform those shits over there about this cause they think rape is a-ok if it happens to a bad person.

Yes! We all have the freedom to read fucked up stories, no justification given. But we can't let these stories (spectacularly twisted, fabulously abusive, violent, etc) to actually normalize the things they contain. That is not the author's intent nor the stories' purpose. It feels like this has become a HUGE problem in yaoi--new generation of readers being unable to recognize 1) what constitutes rape in reality and 2) rape in reality is horrible and fully unromantic. I think it's b/c public education/society in general drops the ball by refusing to educate young people on abuse and rape. As a result, newer readers, without a background understanding of these issues irl, are vulnerable to having their awareness and impressions of these subjects severally derailed by the normalized 'happy-go-lucky' and often romanticized rape in the manga they read. I think we as a community need to spreed awareness of the importance of exploring these issues on our own time outside of reading manga, on the importance of fujoshis and fangirls having a balanced informed understanding of rape and consent, and therefore the ability to be able to enjoy these stories without allowing them to wrap personal values and comprehension.
It's our right & freedom to read problematic stories as we please.
It's our duty to ensure that we do not allow these stories to create our views and bias us.
IT'S OKAY to read problematic material while aware and educated about WHY this is problematic.
IT'S IRRESPONSIBLE to read that same problematic material without making an effort to educate yourself on the issues they contain, by seeking outside sources.
It is your job to make sure the stories you read do not cause you biases, assumptions, and ignorances, that are a common result of reading in this insular community without self-educating first.
Basically: YAOI IS FUN. but IT IS NOT REAL. you need to DO THE REASEARCH to make certain that YOU UNDERSTAND THE DIFFERENCE
how was it rape though???
