I agree! But old school parents might object to their little girls liking REAL BL so anything that might limit the target audience is bad. So without confirmation those who wanna ship 2 guys can and those who prefer hetero idols can... Tho I prefer them being all lovey-dovey pink and smutty, the agency only think about money and reputation.

I think it has to do with the idol culture itself. Like they can't have their own lives because what they are selling are "themselves" for the sake of their fans, so in essence they "belong" to the fans and in a way fans can take that is them "dating", so if they suddenly develop a "real" life outside of what their fans fantasized fans take that as a betrayal, and then there might also be some homophobia.
