You should really read the first part of the manga like start on chapter 1 because season 2 was basically 90% anime original and the anime axed out so much important stuff!
The 2nd season of tokyo ghoul is complete garbage. It has 95%of what happened in season 2 did not happen in the manga. It left out important details. You need to go back and read tokyo ghoul,

I watched the anime and cried so fucking hard when hide died. So I decided to pick up the manga series where the second season ended. Obviously the anime is different from the manga. So wtf happened to hide? In the anime it shows him dying in antieku and then ken carries him. But wtf happened to hides face in the manga? And why is it Kaneki's fault? *also when hide said that he loved Kaneki I literally cried. Originally the author was gonna make Kaneki gay and hide was going to be his love interest, but the idea was scrapped. So I'm glad they kept that bit.*
