Okay, but context is key... Anything taken out of context can sound bad. The context here is that this is a yaoi omegaverse with an alpha/omega pairing, the omega being strong willed and trying to look after himself and the alpha falling in love with said omega and trying to take care of his future wife/baby mamma. In this context the line "you need my permission to get a job" is okay. Also, thats just the outline of the manga, you left out the context of the sentence as well. He had just saved him from another scam.
Yeah it really is a context thing. He knows how desperate Hye-sung (spelling fails me) is with the money situation and he just doesn’t want the poor kid to be scammed and in danger again. Though I got to admit Dijon could have been nicer and explained better his reasoning. Definitely shouldn’t sound that dismissive when he’s trying to be protective
I understand it in context and he just wants to protect the little idiot, but still, a lot of people on hearing that would probably have a knee jerk reaction of "screw you, I can take care of myself and I am going to go get a stupidly risky job just to prove you wrong" especially since he's already defensive as hell and wanting to reject the whole omega thing.
If we're talking how to handle a child, i think most adults would do what the seme did and take on the responsibility themselves rather than watch as the child makes another poor choice. Regardless however, i don't imagine the uke will go out of his way to get a shitty job to spite the seme since its not like hes been purposely ending up looking at these scams.

Wow, in anything besides a yaoi, that would raise so many red flags of domestic violence, everyone would be yelling "run run run"
