Ok so... This is gonna be a literal summary of what happens in season 2. Read if you wanna know but, it is more than just a spoiler.

At chapter 16 on the first few pages, Gam-rae tells Go Jin "Jin. I'm happy with whatever you want. Whether you wish to grow old and pass on before me or even if you No longer wish to be with me. I have neither the right nor the desire to stop you from doing what you want.I already know the life I live is different from other people. To ask you to spend a fraction of my seemingly endless lifespan with me... I feel is selfish and greedy to begin with. Even if... you decide to leave me this very moment... I wouldn't stop you."
They meet those two siblings who are being chased by some heavenly being. Gam-rae has been cursed and if he uses magic he can die considering his body was weak anyway. Go Jin want to learn magic so he can fight the heavenly being. Both Go Jin and Gam-rae ask the siblings to take the other with them on their adventure in case they die. Go Jin was told heavenly beings don't attack people on the mortal plane but he was stabbed and transported to their house's entrance. The siblings have a plan (not evil) and they have Go Jin give Gam-rae a sleeping pill, which the siblings didn't expect him to do by just giving it to Gam-rae. Then they go and fight the heavenly being and Gam-rae sacrifice himself, causing Go Jin to go mad and defeat the heavenely being. Tjhey make it look like Gam-rae died but Go Jin was just mad that he got hurt. All is good and well, the siblings leave and take neither of the two with them. Gam-rae asks another rmaster that specialize in fire like Go Jin to teach him and when asked what is their relationship Gam-rae answers with "he is my lover". Then they go back and point out how they have changed and not changed. Then they laugh it off. Gam-rae tells Go Jin "I may not be able to stop you but I hope you will never leave and choose to stay by my side". Go Jin response with "I wish the same whether a hundred years pass or a thousand years pass. However long this life lasts I will always be with you".
