Let's not make him out to be a saint either. He might not have physically bullied Yeonduk, but he's said and done some incredibly terrible things to Yeonduk.
But yeah, I agree. The author/artist is really great at showing that memories and beliefs are not always reliable. Everything can change with a small change in perspective.
Thats why I said "that bad". I mean, he wasn't nice to him, but he once you see it from Skylars perspective you can see why he acted how he did and why he wouldn't think he was being unfair. He invited him along to hang out just to send pics to his mom, but from his perspective Yeonduk was just using him for money anyway so if any of us was in that situation I can't say we'd feel bad about it. He also never let anyone bully him. But he was harsh with him. But honestly, they were kind of as harsh to one another as any brothers might be, or any really close friends. They both caused each other to suffer a lot without even knowing it....its really sad. But yes! I find what the author is exploring here super interesting! I try to see how different I and my actions may seem to other people to understand conflict. A lot of times when friends get in fights we don't realize how the other side saw the situation at all and its easier to forgive when you stop looking at a situation as the other person knowing how you felt and aiming to hurt you. I also liked looking at how things we remember might actually be really different from the reality of the situation. Really cool stuff here.
Um actually no. Skyler knew what a beep his mother was but he still chose to blame Yeongduk rather than his mother. While he may have still wanted his mother's love and that's why he pushed the blame onto Yeonduk, he DID hurt Yeonduk KNOWINGLY. So not feeling bad about how he treated Yeonduk is shitty. If he doesn't feel shitty, just as Yeonduk did, I can't stand the thought of them being together.
Are you crazy? His mom was LYING to him. He still doesn't know his mom was lying. She would tell him that Yeonduk said he did this or that. So he though Yeonduk was telling his mom stuff about him to get him in trouble and to get money from his mom. He knows his mom sucks be he didn't and still doesn't know she has been lying about Yeonduk all this time. She has purposefully put Skyler under the impression that Yeonduk has been ratting him out when Yeonduk actually hasn't been telling on him at all. She is manipulating him. He literally thought the boy he liked was telling his mom he was acting up so that she would punish him and then give his stuff away to Yeonduk/pay him. So really, he hasn't known the truth at all and has been being rude to Yeonduk because he thought Yeonduk was a backstabber that was betraying him for money even though he clearly never loved anyone more than Yeonduk. They BOTH had their heart broken by misunderstandings the mom made. Also, from Skylers perspective the stuff Yeonduk was doing was just as bad.
I've been suspicious of Mrs. Seo from the beginning. Like, why did she make Yeonduk and his mom do those things that she supposedly does on her own since she's Skyler's mom?
The plot is intriguing. Because I thought Skyler is the bad guy too. But again, it's necessary for us to read further to see that it's due to Mrs. Seo's manipulation.
The reason why Skyler still despised and blamed Yeonduk, though he has always known how fucked up his mom is, is because back when both of them are still little kids, Yeonduk wouldn't want to let Skyler go when Mrs. Seo was about to bring Skyler to Skyler's father.
To be honest I kind of misjudged this manhwa before I tried to read more chapters and now I know why many people are into it and I'm addicted to it hahaha
Dude saaaame. I was thinking it didn’t look interesting and that I didn’t really like the art...but now I’m absolutely hooked. I went and bought ch 27 on English lezhin....and then a couple of the Korean chapters even though I don’t know Korean...I just wanted to see what was going to happen so badly!!
I felt kinda desperate to see what's going on the next chapters as well. Like, based on the snippets I've seen on instagram, chapter 30s seem more interesting. However, since I'm still a broke uni student, I can't afford buying coins on Lezhin. What's more than that: while I can read Korean, I don't understand the meaning hahahaha so yeah I'm gonna wait for the next update here. I hope they won't drop this awesome manhwa.

Turns out nothing is like we think it is... I like how they kind of make us think Skyler is a really bad kid until Yeonduk points out...that he's just normal. Even as viewers we're taken in by the mom's words and Yeonduk's misunderstandings and demonize Skyler in the beginning. But really, he was probably feeling the most betrayed out of anyone...and he never actually bullied Yeonduk. He used him, but he thought Yeonduk was using him too. He never actually was that bad to him...its just all about perspective. Wow, really interesting manga.
