Exactly. I think she also feels guilty for not being able to protect him when he was little. I don't think it was her fault, and I am sure her son does not blame her, but she probably does blame herself for that. And so she went straight into protective mother hen mode.
Well she did say that he could pursue his interests and do whatever he loved xD she shouldn't be so upset
