Again, you're interchanging "submissive and dominant characteristics" with "topping or bottoming". He comes across submissive because he is dependent and that gives the feeling that he'd bottom. Again, sure, he COULD top, i just don't see that as realistic. If they had portrayed him in a more masculine light rather than as a frail, pale beauty THEN maybe it'd be different.
