I guess a lot of people didn't like it for some reason? It was a pretty simple plot, i suppose: 2 guys meet in highschool and become VERY close friends spending time together everyday, one of them is gay and seems to have been in love with the other all along with the straight guy kinda noticing he's gay, but not really going into it further than just suspicions. The straight guy graduates and moves to the city, 3 years later the gay guy moves to the city also and for 3 months he moves from house to house living with sex friends until he runs out of options and has to ask his old crush for a place to stay. Straight friend agrees and they start living together, co-habitation reminds the straight guy how much he used to like spending time with the gay guy and when a mutual friend calls and tells the straight guy that the gay guy might be gay, the straight guy remembers his forgotten suspicions from highschool and thisalong with a caught-masturbating scene sparks him to think about what it means that his friend is gay. The two had started work together, the straight guy sees a co-worker hit on the gay guy which prompts feelings of jealousy because through co-habitation and thought of his good friend's sexuality he is starting to develop feelings for him, though he doesn't quite realize yet. He finds it strange that he's jealous of his friend's relationship with the other male co-worker and out of curiousity pays some attention to the co-worker only to find that he hates the guy's personality, this along with his jealousy and growing affection for his gay friend makes him wonder why it can't be him. After all, the guy has a terrible personality, but for some reason his good friend is paying him no attention and instead is going for that asshole, "it makes no sense". Straight guy goes to the restroom one day and happens to hear the co-worker fucking the gay friend which actually turns the straight guy on so he masturbates to the gay guy's moans. At this point it has been made clear to the straight guy how he feels, theres no denying that he just masturbated to his friend and now he's able to place his jealousy, he leaves the party he was attending to go home and discuss their relationship with the gay guy only to catch him about to leave. He tells the gay guy that he heard them having sex and just comes clean about what he'd been thinking, "why isn't it me". The gay guy is freaking out that he got caught because he'd been trying to keep his sexuality a secret from the straight guy he likes. Straight guy interrupts gay guy's babbling with a kiss and then feelings are affirmed through sex after gay guy confesses to straight guy.
I personally really liked it and while I DO think in hindsight that the straight guy's acceptance of his own gay feelings was a little quick, it didn't feel too quick at all while reading it. It's just kinda like, "well, in hindsight i guess it COULD have taken longer". I thought the pacing was okay, and i liked how the story was presented.
