the author really wanted to give us a plot twist which did kinda shocked me and was kind enough to make it into a half uncle and
half nephew relationship(is that even a word?)
so that it wouldn't feel a bit too gross cause that would mean they have so little DNA incommon
AND PUH-LEASE! as if you fujoshis haven't seen or read something much worse like a father and son or brother and brother or worse...

Everybody's freaking out cause they're related, but what's the big deal?
Firstly, they've never met before the story begins.
Secondly, the reason incest is gross is because of the possibility of the children having birth defects. This is obviously not an issue here.
Thirdly, due to the different mothers, they only share half as much DNA as a full Uncle and nephew. That is somewhere around 10%, which is somewhere between a first and second cousin.
Also, it's a manga. Stuff that's weird and gross in real life is fine in manga.
