Rape was present in the other webcomic the author wrote. There was development and both the victim and the perpetrator felt the negative effects of the rape. Im assuming thats what going to happen here which is why Im not too worried about where the webcomic is heading
Looking through the comments in the rape subject, everyone has a point. Is not because rape is common that we can't criticize, think it was unnecessary and feel bad/grossed out about it BUT at the same time most of the stories has messed up elements (being rape, cheating, physical or mental abuse etc) that I'd never accept and be okay in real life but since it's fiction I can judge but not in the same level. What I look in the stories, especially ones with rape if it will have development, it's sad it's still so common and highly unnecessary but some has genuine character development, some to the point of addressing the rape as rape. If I don't see it happening I stop reading. And that's what I'm hoping for this story, character development which doesn't make the rape okay but also they can grow and change and I think looking through raws that's what the author is heading to me.
