its because of heteronormativity... they want to keep the whole "husband and wife" thing even in a YAOI universe. its homophobic
It's basically the same thing (parents) just one refers to females and the other refers to males. Males can't be moms because they are males.
Are you talking about like if a women couple would be called dads and guy couple would be called moms?
i know it's stupid but it always bothers me when they come up with this "dad" and "mom" thing in yaoi (and variations such as the uke being called "bride", ya know, just the general "the man and the woman of the relationship")
