Dunno about this. But I don't think Heath is a good idea either. MC seems to be the prideful type, and mixing him with a schemer like Heath feels like a recipe for disaster.

Why is he a "schemer"? Given the nature of the work, the staff of the salon are reliant on their sponsors to secure stable income and status, therefore in such a competitive and unforgiving environment him trying to get a new wealthy customer (the son) just seems obvious. Also, Heath too was a victim. He was taken from the orphanage in order to be sold into the salon, meaning he faced sexual abuse as a child. As a young adult it appears he was beaten up by a client meaning he is reliant on crutches and has injuries to his face.

Well everyone is working in the salon, so they already know what they need to do in order to survive. But Heath was singled out as knowing his own value, implying that he manipulates his wiles and charms to get what he wants. Since the MC is already treating the other members of the salon with contempt, wouldn't it follow that he would react badly to being used by a salon member? Heath is a victim, not disputing that, but just because Heath looks good doesn't mean they'd mix temperamentally.
