I think is because he and the Gol D Roger pirates know the true about the Void time from 800 years ago..
That would be a reason to grant him an audience.......or kill him but that would throw off the balance

He has the look......but looks can be deceiving although I would like to go into his backstory a little to see why he ended up on the path that he's on
