I feel like the author had an idea for the story and the build up, but had no idea how to end it. These characters needed more time and development and the usual format of 6 chapters wasn't good for it. Forced ending with an unrealistic outcome of two obviously damaged people. They needed time, counseling, dealing with feelings and even confrontations, letting things out. Kind of an ambitious plot of a complicated subject to make it in just a few episodes. Of course it ended up feeling anti-climatic and forced.

Indeed. I don't think you can even forgive or not even be surprised, to say the least, about knowing that the cause of Mei's death in just mere seconds. Should've been prolonged or something. like if this was a manhwa it would be to most people liking. Episode or chapter wise. That is not to say that mangas don't have the "more than 6-7 chapters" format. It fell short to sum it up.
