Sigh

It is WEIRD to bring this up in a title that is so deliberately absurd and over-the-top fucked up, but goddamnit, did we have to get an "I know I'm gay because I attacked someone" narrative? And have readers go Omg Realism (TM) and ignore the harmful bigoted stereotype? We have ample evidence of both of their feelings before. Why choose to crystallize his identity at that moment with that framing? The situation is sympathetic enough.

If I could trust Ogeretsu sensei to follow through and turn these harmful myths inside out I'd be intrigued. Instead, she tends to create these special toxic cocktails mixed with top shelf "realistic" ingredients sourced from the best and worst places. (The manga with the domestic abuser is Victim Blaming 101.) Of course, the kid frightened by an unwanted sexual advance returns as a manipulative blackmailer.

WHYYYYYYYYYY

I'd prefer high school orgies, tbh. Makes no sense to go for pathos here. Or at least this way.

To pre-empt: "Kiki, you're terrible/stupid/why are you reading it then!?!?!?!/you don't understand anything/I don't agree with you so disappear/I didn't even read your post but I hate you/Leave Ogeretsu Sensei Aloooone (๑•ㅂ•)و✧

ehhh i didn't interpret it like that at all ○□○ to me, i think shikatani has always liked the guy and had the desire to have sex with him, so hewas hopeful and just advanced in the heat of the moment, taking all his chances and a hint of desperation; especially after he saw the guy with that girl. i think it was more of his wishful thinking that the guy would pick him and so he just did it without thinking. as for the guy, i think he wanted to maintain their friendship(as the starting showed him waving to shikatani goodbye), so he didn't say that shikatani was at fault. and the guy has always had a soft spot for shikatani and so wanted to protect him in a way. but that's what i derived from reading this chapter and i'm sorry if i took your time Σ(っ°Д °;)っ

Hehe, no need to apologise, I willingly spend my time commenting and reading after all. And I'm always happy to read calm, measured disagreement.

But yeah whether he did it in the heat of the moment or not, Shikitani did it without his friend's consent, implicit or otherwise. They hadn't discussed their feelings to come to an understanding and he didn't ask before doing it.
