It's a cat turned human so the coworker would have still seen a human.
Everyone keeps saying Kawamura is having sex with a cat. But if that's the case, then the coworker would have seen a cat, rather than allude to it via allergy. Unless......the coworker is just humoring Kawamura and some Harada-style plot twist occurs where MC seme is insane and really is having sex with a cat.
