Firstly. that third is Lu Run. I prefer to think of him as Loo Toilet Run. Here are honest reasons why I hate Loo Toilet:
*He feels unimportant* ---Yea Yea, he hurt Jinha. Yea Yea, he is a test. Is he supposed to automatically make the main pair stop acting like idiots? Because that sure isn't happening.
*His story is drawn out* ---There is no reason for him to have nearly a third of this book with his face. Period. His character feels like a bunch of spur of the moment add-ons, like, "Oh, maybe I'll throw this in before I figure out how to actually continue."
*Most Important: He is not relatable* ---Other than being drawn to be attractive (obviously) how else can we relate to him? And don't say kink. There just isn't enough actual depth of his character.
*His back story is trash.* ---And don't pretend it's not. Spoiled rich kid can't make friends bc he is too rich. Boo hoo, cry me a river. He was introduced like a stepping stone, but given a whole lake to do evil, why?
Overall,
Information is being revealed too slowly, if there is anything more to him. It takes away from the other great qualities of this manga. Don't get me wrong, I don't hate this manga, or the author.
Clearly he is part of a bigger picture with having the envy stone, but the approach to his character is mediocre. The story feels like it is more about Loo Toilet than the main pair, and that feels isolating.
However in Ch 66,
I am glad to finally see some development with Jinha actually goddamn listening to someone. Essential side character here to save the day and bring back hope. I'm relieved he didn't just give up, tbh.
My speculations:
- the author had a beginning and end for Loo Run, but didn't think of the middle - or his past is more traumatic than let on and will be revealed later along with the envy stone revealing - or author just wants to fuck with us
Dude, it's just a fucking continuation of the story, they ran out of obstacles so they created a villain, simple as that. You're not reading Catcher in the Rye here, it's just a Yaoi about sad boys and magical rocks, calm down haha.
