No, I think her attachment to her son is a result of her husband abusing her. And she got worked up over a love letter because it was a reality check for her. Her little boy will actually leave her. He is m.k ost likely the only thing keeping her same for so long.

A lot of people have been commenting about how sweet the mother seems, but am I the only one getting a really weird feeling from her? She doesn't act completely sane; why did she get so worked up over a love letter? Her strange behaviour is understandable because she is being abused, but I think her attachment to her son goes beyond the ''family'' line... :/
