Well I’m speaking from experience here and trust me.... he was hella good looking to boot too, so that combined with being naive is just... bad. Girls ( and occasionally guy) would obviously flirt with him and he thinks it’s just “friend talk” so he’d respond to it which just gives the other person hope or mix signals. *sigh* I saw all the texts that he had and for him he thinks he did nothing wrong
