The story is hot and all but the extra pages about tipping hit too close to home I never know how much to tip so I'd avoid any sort of restaurant just for that reason (I'm someone who is capable of literally dying of embarrassment)

I feel you. In a store overseas the clerk laughed at me because I didn’t understand their money, said I was the funniest person I’ve ever met. I’m not funny I just didn’t understand their currency.

I live in Denmark and the tip is by law included in the bill. Meaning if you see the price of a dish then the tip is included in that price. Of course you can chose to give something extra if you feel like it.

That sounds like heaven. Where I'm from tipping isn't obligatory at all except if you receive really good service then it's up to you, which is good but I recently moved to Canada and boy am I confused about both taxes and tipping. Where I used to live taxes are included in the price and let's say you see a price at the supermarket, that's exactly how much you pay but here it's very confusing....both taxes that aren't included in the price and tipping confuse me so much

I have been living abroad for 3 months now and money still confuse me. It's mainly because I use debit and credit cards all the time and almost never handle money that it's still somewhat of a foreign concept to me lol

How does that work? If your bill is $15 and you delete the 5, you're only tipping $1???? How cheap can you get?

Percentages are not as hard as they make it sound. Let's say your bill is $20 and you want to tip 15%. All you have to do is oull out your calculator and type in 20 x .15 and hit =

Just put a decimal in front of the percentage number and multiply it by the bill's amount.

Oh! But make sure the bill's amount comes first during the multiplication.

Cant you see it was just a joke about math :d?
And if your bill 15$ there is nothing wrong to give 1$ tip or give 1.5$ it doesnt matter its just 50 cent difference.
