
Yes. That is right.. That is the only possibility I'm seeing right now. With the build up of the story, it could possibly end having him successfully launch the back row attack. There are a few hints like him looking at Lev after he got his back row attack in, shouyou coming in the back row again which can limit himself and Kenma saying that kageyama has no interest with shouyou who couldn't jump. Something like that.

It is certainly a good theory. I think the other possibility would involve Hinata perfecting his jump, since Kageyama has pointed out a few times now that it isn't as high as it could go, like makes the wrong sound and he sometimes jumps higher than his recorded best. It is more difficult to correct that in the middle of a game, but say he discards his run-up and does a better jump to compensate, even just doing that a couple times could mess with Kenma's plan since it introduces variation (will he run up or not).
