That wont get any remorse from him... Yes it would bring closure!
but if you really want him to truly pay for what he's done? HE needs to realize his life up to now is not normal!!! Everything that made him what he is, and yes MADE him. Sangwoo didn't wake up and think "I'm going to be a complete psychopath and kill people".
Taking aside the murders for a moment.
His parents did this, (his parents and the system failed him.
We're suppose to help little kids like Sangwoo (and Bum, he was failed too). So they can live a happy life and grow up with hopes and dreams. Not when he's terrified to go home sick from school, sitting down scared to look up, being scared to even breath, cough or make any kind of noise... because you'd get the beating like you never knew!! (this is just a handful of thing's he went through).
It's already too late for Sangwoo (his life will be far from happy, If he even lives). The second he killed innocent people.... he had gone too far.
For him to truly pay for what he's done, medically...he needs a high-security psychiatric hospital (your most dangerous prisoners never get out). This way he'll be able to get treatment, and if, and that's if, if he's able to psychologically sort his emotional state (AND THATS A BIG IF), he'll truly be able to atone for his crimes, "he wont be able to escape all the victims and the way he killed and tortured them going through his mind (His own mind will kill him, if He doesn't first "that is"). If not, then he's not getting out anyway. He'll be stuck there until he dies, four walls and a padded room.
Right now, if he's just chucked in prison, "he wont feel anything, no remorse, just nothing. It will only make him worse, he'll most likely workout now to kill people in prison, whether it's prisoners, guards or even visitors, "he'll keep on killing" he want be able to stop himself!

Okay do I feel pity for sangwoo? Yes, yes I do. But does he deserves to go to jail? Yes, he must go to jail
