The answer is in my original comment. Also you can clearly see his attentions are unwanted on her end the anime makes it look like Asta is sexually harassing her. It's played for laughs because he is younger and probably included in the first place to make him a celibate hero. I know Asta never giving up is part of his charm but this one thing is not full of 'morals and values' it's creepy/cringeworthy. Tech you could say nuns are married to God right? Is it ok to declare your love regularly to a woman in front of her husband?
