Honestly, YOU. You know what? I heard my mom jokingly said she's given up most of her dreams to raise me and my sisters. She slipped it sometimes, unintentionally because it hurts her everyday. Life is not going to go the way you want. Tomoe is a human, too. A mother's job is important but a mother is still a human, too. She's given Ayu enough loving. Those two also do, too. That's more than enough.

Huh? Giving your child love is more than enough? LOL. Can a child feed herself, clean herself, teach herself to shit? Does she shut up on her own? Does she cure herself of diseases on her own too? LOL. Wouldn't parents kill for that to be the case. Tomoe was irresponsible as hell and there's no sugar coating that. A child is a huge responsibility. It eats up your entire life. If you can't provide for one, don't get fucking pregnant. If you're still going to have it then let your friends adopt it. This situation she put them in is hugely unfair for them. So she's human, and she doesn't want to give up her dreams. And what about Chiaki? He's given up so many career opportunities for a child that isn't even his. Yes he loves Ayu, but at the end of the day he and Kazuma are providing free child care 24/7. And they'll have to give up the child they raised sooner or later.
Possibly, or possibly not. We don't even know if Saito knew he fathered Ayu. His parents could easily step in and claim her. And, If someone else legally adopts Ayu, like Chiakis parents, they could take her anytime if they wanted to. Say Chiaki and Kazuma were to split up, do you believe whoever has custody of Ayu would let her go to a single dad home? No. They would take her from Chiaki despite everything he's done for her. It's just not a good situation to be in.

Lol you're right. I got all salty for a fictional story. Not that serious only because it's fiction. I have a young nephew that I babysit often, because I work from home and clearly have so much free time. Putting this in perspective, I would fucking kill my sister if she tried to pull something like Tomoe.

Oh, let's travel the world while my two gay friends raise my child, free of charge. I'm giving them a chance of a lifetime, a chance to build a family... until I come back for my child once the toughest stages of childhood are taken care of by those guys. Oh, and if I happened to die, or to never come back for whatever reason, I'm sure they'll figure something out. No need for any legal documents on child custody, Japan is very accepting of gay couples after all.
