It is part of the manga which inspired the anime, it is called "Hataraku Saibou" without Black, it is from a different author but they share similarities.
The anime follows the manga Hataraku Saibou in which the human body is fairly normal. It features a human body condition that usually common such as minor wounds, minor allergic, flu etc
Hataraku Saibou Black however features a human body with bad health habit such as prolong smoking, over drinking, unprotected sexual activities etc.
Cells at work is a tragic story. The anime is all preppy and happy...but this is the reality..also....I hope there's no episode with cancer.
