I totally agree with you, Nemu should speak his mind more but Maya should know by now how insecure Nemu is. I guess this is the reason for all the secrets but it Nemu finds out this secrets and lies (which he has) it can be very damaging to Nemu's psyche.

I have a feeling the author isn't too keen on the idea of wrapping up the story yet, though, which might explain why Nemu and Maya never truly make up after a fight; essentially, they just have "make-up sex" without addressing any of the issues that caused their fights... I almost hope that the author will introduce a proper rival; someone who's got everything Maya doesn't. I honestly can't picture any type of scenario where Nemu and Maya will be able to solve their problems if an attractive yet thoughtful person doesn't show romantic interest in Nemu, forcing Maya to reflect on the areas in which he is lacking.
... But I think Maya is one of the top WORST semes I've come across in any long, on-going yaoi series. He keeps too many secrets from Nemugasa (especially, regarding the time he spends with Ruka who's obviously set his mind on stealing Maya from Nemu), raises his voice whenever Nemu tries to discuss his insecurities and, ultimately, his behaviour results in Nemu becoming increasingly insecure, doubting whether Maya will actually stay with him in the end.
I haven't dropped the series yet but I just might if Maya doesn't step up his boyfriend game anytime soon. Nemu should, of course, toughen up a little and speak his mind, however, Maya isn't even remotely trying to support him in that regard.
Honestly, the fact that Nemu has no confidence in himself whatsoever is also a huge hurdle in their relationship; if he'd told Maya about his insecurities and about how mean Ruka has been, a lot of things could've turned out differently... ⁄(⁄ ⁄·⁄ω⁄·⁄ ⁄)⁄
