My interpretation is that she’s made a job for herself returning fallen hero’s to their home towns. The adventuring party is leaving their dead comrade for her to walk back to his home town for burial. But like with the first group, she’ll talk to him on the journey to make it a little less lonely or sad fro herself.

the whole time i was slightly confused with the back and forth with the backflashes but i had a feeling that this would end with them all having died by the end. though i still dont quite understand that last page
