I read Hogu Hagyeongsu from start to end and I agree. It messed me up in all honesty. But I definitely don't think BJ Alex will reach or get even close to what the level of angst that Hogu Hagyeongsu did. Or even many of the Manhwa these days do.
Honestly, I think this is the peak of angst when it comes to them getting together. Of course, there's still that sunbae at school that's suspicious of them and is searching for the people that had sex in the student lounge (which are DG and Alex) but I think that'll be down the road and again, way more light hearted then what we've been getting recently ╮(￣▽￣)╭
I've thought it over and I've concluded that Korean Manhwa can become way darker and can spiral further down the rabbit hole than what I think most are used to. It's angst of a greater magnatude. I dabbled in another called "Hogu Hagyeongsu" which is an even greater level of crazy (I can't say I recommend it). I think the better story telling allows a balence of light-heartedness mixed in so it's not always a one-note level of pain and suffering. Regardless I'm still interested in seeing where this ends up, but I'm thinking it's time for a break to see if enough of the story will develop or if it just keeps up this same fervored pitch.
