I could say the same thing! I miss the characters from If You Hate Me So so fucking much...
I never cared for Hye-sung in If You Hate Me, but since he was a side character, I could deal with it. He is spoiled rotten, selfish and is incapable of taking responsibility for his own choices and actions. That is a personality type that I just can't tolerate, both in real life and fiction. Perhaps, when this manga is complete, I will pick it up again and witness the beautiful transformation of Hye--sung from spoiled brat to mature, responsible young man. At least, that is my hope and wish. In the meantime, I will enjoy some other manga and keep touching back to If You Hate Me.
Hyesung may indeed be a spoilt brat, he is still interesting as a character though. Imagine some goody-two-shoe guy who's a a student of some top tier university, leading a happy life and even having a FWB on side whom he adores dearly. Sounds sweets. And that guy's life suddenly does a 180 degree turn as he ends up living with some druggie, being completely dependent on him and even becoming homeless for brief moment and considering prostitution!
That's some rather unexpected plot twist, innit.
Regardless, even that spoilt Hyesung from If You Hate Me So was way better than the Hyesung from Love Is an Illusion. Jesus.
I'll definitely grant you that. I can't remember the last time I had to drop a manga/webtoon because I genuinely couldn't stand a character. It really made me sad. If You Hate Me was so incredible and I absolutely adored the MCs. I was really looking forward to reading Love is an Illusion. Ah, well. C'est la vie.
I wanted to like this manga because I just adored If You Hate Me So Much. But, I'm sorry, I just can't do it. Please don't get me wrong, the creator is an amazing talent and she deserves all the accolades she gets for her art and her writing. I just can't tolerate the MCs personality. I've never been a fan of super tsundere types or omegaverse to begin with. So, as amazing as this comic surely is, I got to chapter 8 and had to bail. It was also kind of weird to become familiar with characters in If You Hate Me only to find them thrust into an entirely different universe here. I'm not saying the comic was bad, I'm sure it is as incredible as If You Hate Me, I'm just not cut out for reading it. If you dig the super tsundere type and you dig omegaverse, I'm sure this will be a great read. I hope you can enjoy it for my share too.
