I'm actually new to this manhua and anime and I want to ask why Mo Xuanyu and Wei Wuxian l...

they're not the same person, just the same soul, the mangaka probably don't want to draw two different person to make them more recognisable? I think

They don't *really* look the same, well, not in the novel! This artist's drawing style, while very pretty, does sorta make most of the characters look similar. I tell them apart by their clothes and hair, haha (≧∀≦)

As for wwx, its mentioned his face very different from mxy, i imagine his adult version with not graceful, but sharper and mischievous features (like thin lips, not pouty), tanner, taller and more muscular (obviously), with slightly coarse hair. And sexy! ლ(´ڡ`ლ) For the younger version, i imagine him to be smaller with boyish features . Lololol its not required that you imagine him the same way lol.
The clothes officially are the same color tho lol.

Just in case you're curious, Wei Wuxian's original body was quite tall, and though he was generally hated when he died, everybody seemed to agree that he was boyishly handsome, hehe. Mo Xuanyu is a few inches (6cm) shorter than Wei Wuxian--though he's still one of the taller characters--and is more the 'pretty young master' type--refined and elegant. It's also implied that Mo Xuanyu has a slender, light build, so he's not super buff or muscular. It must be quite a change for Wei, but he does approve of Mo Xuanyu's looks, so at least he's happy. :3

I feel like the donghua made them look similar so viewers don't get confused. When I read the novel before, I did imagine them to look different. Wei Wuxian's original body was taller than Mo Xuanyu's body, although they are both described to be handsome. I'm pretty sure young Wei Wuxian wore the purple outfit's the YunmengJiang sect disciples wore and not the red & black one the donghua shows... Same with a lot of other scenes. They were supposed to wear these really nice red outfits during the archery contest in the novel, but they decided to not add it in the donghua. I also thought Jiang Cheng's hair was worn down, not tied in a bun, meh

So true T-T My boyfriend is watching the donghua and I have to fill him in on what they changed, and what was actually supposed to happen etc because he's too lazy to read the novel. He was very confused about the flash back & whether Mo Xuanyu was the same person(body) as Wei Wuxian..

Yeah... After mishaps his black robes with crimson hems were emphasised. Probably because he didn't wear such clothes earlier and also they contrasted his personality. But MXY's were described as black when he was reincarnated.
And yeah! Archery clothes (they might be beautiful but i HATE those clothes), found an image here on mangago as well.
