How is it lazy writing to have a rape plot? Genuinely curious why you think that because I would agree that it's lazy writing if Youngmin now fell in love with the professor and this turned into another rape to love situation, but that's not the case. I think the characters (Jungwoo and Youngmin) are being developed plenty. Also the plot really only focuses on the two of them so like.. there's really no point in developing the other characters, otherwise it would just drag on needlessly

Okay yes there's a rape scene but it is definitely not the plot..?? Also maybe it's a basic story but both of the character's are great.. Just because there's a rape part effects how you see a character hmm okay...... And there was character development before the rape plot.. even in their relationship. If this story had any more added to it there would be way to much drama going on. But opinions will be opinions.

Then just make a fanfiction and don't whine about it. Nobody's stopping you from doing that and the raws are almost over so why're are you still bitching about it?
And its clearly obvious that those people are just ignorant and assholes. No trauma in their past or anything but you just want to drag the story for god knows how long just because you weren't 'satisfied' of the plot.
Thats a bit selfish dont you think?

I feel like its lazy writing because it automatically makes the readers sympathize or hate certain characters because rape is inherently a bad thing. I agree having Youngmin fall in love with the professor would be bad, but to me its equally bad as the current situation. Maybe developing side characters is not necessary, but to me creating a sort of "cognitive dissonance" over which characters are good/likable or bad/dis-likable creates a more dynamic story. This is just my opinion ofc

But the story isn't about them, so why should we as readers care about the side characters. From the beginning, the story was about the relationship of Youngmin and Jungwoo and how much they're mistaken to be a sugar baby/sugar daddy couple due to how young and old they respectively look and how it ends up negatively impacting them. Youngmin gets ostracized by his peer group due to the rumors about him doing paid dating being spread around by a girl who was supposed to be his friend, which then spirals into him being raped by his professor and stressed out/traumatized from the entire ordeal while he's trying to hide how poorly he's doing from Jungwoo. Jungwoo later in the story finds about everytime Youngmin gets harassed because of the rumor and intervenes in a violent manner. The story doesn't revolve around the rape, it revolves around how their lives(mainly Youngmin's) are disrupted by a rumor that didn't concern anyone to being with and how Youngmin and Jungwoo still manage to love each other even though they face quite a number of hardships because of it.

Lmao dude I haven't even read the webtoon, just looking at the comments before reading it, and you really need to relax. It really was just a simple, objective criticism, not even a flame war, and you took it so personally somehow..

I definitely agree that the story forces you to dislike/ like certain characters but I wouldn't call it a flaw per say. Cuz there are certain characters that aren't redeemable at all. The professor rapes Youngmin, and his former friend spread a rumor without checking in with Youngmin to see if it was true. Even if they were to apologize and own up to their actions, it doesn't erase the fact that they traumatized him. The other side characters like Jungwoo's cousin and Youngmin's friend don't really contribute to the story.
I feel like this story needs more. Like I love the characters and the fluffiness of it really warms my soul but with the whole rape plot...its just kinda meh. It's almost as if it needed a rape plot in order to have character development which IMO is very lazy writing (and it seems to be a common tactic in yaoi). At least, the artist could have waited a couple arcs (after having us actually emotionally connect to the other characters) to have the rape plot. But its like, we never gave a shit about the side characters (the girl, the cousin, or the professor), so its so easy to just write them as the bad guy. But if the artist had us actually like them in the beginning, the story would've been more dynamic. I really hope the artist doesn't drag this rape/blackmail thing on too long because whatever was unique and cute about the beginning of this story won't even matter anymore because either way it turned into a basic ass yaoi story.
