I agree with u, I'm tearing up too...but it seems like the father hasn't heard what the aunt said about having another kid, I think that slap was for him admitting that he doesn't wanna disown his own child even though he is different, there r a lot of stories like this where the dad disown his child r write them off r even beat the crap out of them before throwing them out of the house but what I know all of them have in common is that they care more about what people might say r the image they'll destroy over the love and choices of their kids. These people r acting like being gay is a disease and it might be contagious, I hope he and LiHuan falls madly in love and he becomes successful and famous and doesn't have to hide his love and those family members who think he's sick r a lost caused feel like crap
I think it come from a lot of ignorance his father seem to love so much and not even bother to check the facts. for him, I guess, he doing him a favor by saving him from his "Disease" like how they took him to a fucking doctor at one time, what show they totally ignorance and don't want to see the other view that maybe it's natural. they see it has kind of like their son taking drags, and hurt himself and will get diseases by been with man that not "normal" to them.
horrible I know, and I totally hate them too, but there is a lot of parents like this. their most of the time will stick to their ignorance beliefs and behavior, until they have no son left.
but I want to believe there is still hope to the mom, even if she is annoying and dumb. she at least try to go after him from the car, and I do think she was very worried to him. maybe if she choose to go after her heart and her love for her son, maybe she stop stick to her ignorance way of thinking and open up to the world more. at least that what I hope XD

Why is the dad acting so surprised that he's losing his kid. I can see he's not pure trash and doesn't just completely hate his son but the dude is living in a very dark hole thinking anything he's doing now will somehow not make his son resent him. Even if in the scenario where Yuyang was more weak willed and conformed in the end he would still resent his father and He wouldn't see his kid in both cases. Dude needs to open his eyes and realise his son is an adult now and the chance of never seeing him ever again are so very real right now.
