It looked like Iris stopped his heart when he took the soul stone so....
right that's what it looked like but people think he's still alive and some doll somewhere
I think he's dead. The difference between the vampire and him is he's human so he can't possibly live without a soul.
The vampire can just die and die again.
Also him being alive is pointless, demons might be demons but they're smart, they wouldn't keep him alive if there is no use to him. Iris just kept his soul as a memento; a reminder about the one human that made him realize how much demons can love humans.
