Yes, but the manhua is the close one on following the direction of the novel and there are scenes in the novel that are included in the manhua but not in the animation. Still amazing though. ヾ(☆▽☆)

The anime doesn't change the plot much right
Like they did in soul contract

Nope, so far it is very close to the novel. The flashback scenes are currently all put together rather than the back-and-forth of the novel, and there have been a few minor changes in some small details here and there, but the plot is being followed very faithfully at this point.

It does! If you read the novel, the animation has made a lot of progress already. It just focuses more on the flashback where how Wei WuXian became the Yiling Patriarch.

And it's only the first season, expect exponential development in the future.

In terms of Wwx mastering demonic cultivation, the donghua goes further than the novel. It also focuses more in Jiang Cheng and Lan Wangji. I guess it will follow the same plot, but without the romance.
BUT, the donghua is kinda chronologically telling the story, from the past to the present: one big flashback. The manhua and novel have several flashbacks.
