Well i think its because the last few chapters were extremely painful to read,so they didn't focus at all at pacing, especially for the LGBT readers. It completely took a turn from romance and comedy to a serious and sad image of hardships Yuyang went through because of his sexuality.I,for instance, completely forgot about Lihuan until he called him.But since the last few chapters were so heartbreaking,i hope that the story will get a bit more cheerful when Yuyang meets with Lihuan again (≧∀≦)

How can reading the background story of a main character be “extremely painful”? Background stories are always necessary in any type of story if you really want to execute a well written and well developed story. It’s part of the creativity and format of storytelling. Also, i don’t think that it was a let down for the LGBT community. I would consider myself to be a part of it and since I haven’t really come out to anyone and have similar emotional struggles as YuYang, it was nice to see an aspect of reality in a BL fictional manhua that actually taught me some things and made me feel like I wasn’t alone here. It was a refreshing sight to see that a fictional BL manhua from China, portrayed an actual issue concerning the LGBT community, especially more so from a country like China. If you really want readers to feel connected to the characters in your story, you have to add some depressing scenes, because that’s how life is. Life isn’t always dandelions and rainbows, and everyone knows that because we’re all alive here and experiencing the ups and downs of life. I don’t see how that’s annoying people, honestly. I find it extremely ridiculous and outrageously rude to both the author (and editor) and other readers to get angry over essential and needed background storytelling. If anything, the recent chapters have made me have high ass respect for DJun and his intellectual creativity and talent.

I know, but the there are multiple variables for a story “dragging on” that people don’t seem to get becuz all they want is just sex scenes right away and they end up trashing the author who clearly loses sleep and skips meals every day just to get one chapter out EVERY WEEK. And DJun did say that this story was going to be up to 200+ chapters so if you think it’s dragging on..... it kinda isn’t and it’s just the way it’s being structured so it can reach the lovely happy ending that DJun has so carefully thought out for

Honestly i don't even know where to start.First of all by "extremely painful" i didn't mean that its bad i mean that its PAINFUL because it hurts so much nobody gives a fuck about pacing i mean seriously how could you not get that?.I'm a gay guy(very rare on mangago, over 90% are girls)who lives in extremely homophobic country where all my friends, family, every single aqcuaintance hates gays, and hates so much that it does not pass a day without me thinking about commiting suicide because i will be completely alone when they find out. When i was reading these past few chapters,i completely felt broken, because that is how i picture myself when i come out(only without cute guy like lihuan and friends, cause in my country the girls hate gays as much as guys)That is what i meant by "extremely painfull"because i wanted to cry as i was reading this a could relate on every little single thing that happened with Yuyang, cause trust me,in my country people hate gays and abuse them far more then in China.(a Slavic country, hating gays is a normal thing here).I meant that the story became so much deep and serious,i completely forgot about Lihuan, romance and comedy, and therefore pacing. That is my original reply to you.I'm pretty sure when the story turns lighter, people will continue bitching about pacing again. There my comment wasn't negative at all,i actually commended on how deep and mature and REALISTIC above all it turned into, that is why i meant that the chapter was painful for other LGBT like myself, because it was so well written that we could feel yuyang pain.I don't like writing long ass comments, but since you will probably misunderstood it again and get triggered i tried to explain to details my original reply.

Well I just explained myself that I have similar issues too and haven’t come out either. I wasn’t downgrading the LGBT community. I too felt pain as I read that chapter. I even cried for Christ’s sake. And I do apologize for misunderstanding because clearly, I can’t see your emotional intent with a digital text response. And from the comments that I’ve seen from the last 5 chapters, A WHOLE LOT of people have been b*tching about the pace of the story cuz all they want is straight up makeout and sex scenes, which bothers me a ton (as you’ve noticed) becuz they are being so unbelievably ignorant and missing the whole point in this part of the story. And mind you, I’ve come across those same people claiming that those background stories aren’t realistic for the LGBT community, which I know isn’t true (obviously) but that’s the types of the comments I’ve been seeing so constantly from the recent chapters that I can’t help but get triggered by because it’s just outright wrong! And I strongly apologize for misunderstanding, but I mistook your comment because that’s how so many people have claimed that the pace feels like. That the slow pace is extremely painful to bear and that they will drop the manhua if the relationship doesn’t go anywhere soon. And I know excuses don’t make up for my rash assumption, but I’m just explaining why I got triggered that way.
Also I will guarantee you that there’s way more gay guys here on mangago than just 10%, you aren’t alone for sure. This is an international site, so don’t over generalize and feel like you’re the only one. You just haven’t come across others yet. And trust me, I know how horrible homophobia is in mid/Eastern Europe, I did a research paper on homophobia for history and it’s horrendous. But just know that you aren’t alone. This site exists not just for posting Asian comics, but to also be a safe ground for people to connect. So don’t lose hope
Finally for once in a long ass time, the comment section is filled with such wonderful positivity and not some whiny b*tchy comments about the pace of the story. Did it really take a Q&A to understand why the author has structure THEIR OWN STORY the way it currently is?????? Whatever, I’m just happy that this story won’t end for a long while and I hope DJun is in good health <3
