book and the manga are more closely related than the anime. The anime doesn't really follow the plot-that much anyway. but for the book you should read at ch. 16(that's where the translation ended right now.) As for the anime, probably ch. 22(I'm not confident for that one. Haven't watch all of the available ones(only watch till ep6)
Start from chapter 17 , as in read chapter 17 and maybe 16 if u still don’t understand. Please note that chinese novels are very descriptive so you may find a clashing difference between the manga and the novel in terms of understanding the plot . Plus they changed a lot in terms of plot sequence and storytelling in the anime so it’s kinda useless when u want to continue the novel, the manhwa on the other hand is the closest to the novel

I would read the novel from the beginning as being that the manga has simplified language I liked how it was written I the novel then again that is my opinion (▰˘◡˘▰)
I highly recommend from chapter 1 because it has all the scenes in full details and also there are some text descriptions that just only work for the novel but not in the donghua/manhua.
is the novel complete? I mean is has an ending?
The novel is complete 120 chapters but not all has been translated as yet
