As far as I can tell, he WAS a normal kid. He had happy family trips, he had caring parents and all. That "I can do it myself" sounds like the moment he starts to change, in my opinion.

After his mom tried to kill him. After he heard the same mom having sexual relations with another man.

I'm yet to believe the father was a bad person. . . I mean, maybe ny Dory memory is betraying me, but have we actually seen a memory of Sangwoo's dad beating the mom? I'm not saying it didn't happen. . . I mean, we're just seeing Sangwoo's past NOW, a lot of other snippets of memory will probably happen next. Soon. But. . . the only batshit crazy I saw in this episode was the mom.

The dad, as far as I'm concerned, did defend his son.

( again, my Dory memory is really trying to remember if the "abusive father" was seen/mentioned before but ╮(￣▽￣)╭ )

The point I wanted to reach is. . . we already knew Sangwoo had a past, something that made him what he is. . . but daaaamn, I never expected the mom to be it.

I don't think things will end pretty for Bum now, though.

If Sangwoo still has "nightmares" about the mom. . . if Bum resembles her so much. . . honestly, how long will it be for Sangwoo to take revenge on his mom through Bum? Even more, i mean?

That's not love, or care. He is always manipulating people and Bum is not an exception.
