Shojo is not the "hetero" equivalent to yaoi. That would be ecchi, I think. And it's perfectly ok if those two don't have deep plots. Read proper and well written shojo or shonen ai if you're in need of that. We're here for the dicks

Shoujo doesn't need groundbreaking plotlines, either so, according to their (and your) 'logic' it should be okay to read shoujo even without it. But, at least according to... oh... almost every fujoshi on the planet, the reason people should avoid reading shoujo is BECAUSE it doesn't have groundbreaking plot. Sounds illogical and hypocritical to me.
Also, I've read many yaoi with more plot than dick. Is that because I know that being a fujoshi entails more than just seeing a guy whipping out his dick?
