from what I can gather Raymond's father Logan was a bastard based on the evidence he was an absentee father, was cheating on his wife (she clearly knew as her reaction during his funeral), and was having a an ill-advised and inappropriate affair with Kata, his test subject, yet the fact that everyone is obsessed with his role within this narrative is interesting. Raymond with his daddy issues, and willingness to get close to Kata in order to learn more about a father he barely knows, yet those so through the very morally gray method of now routinely having sex with his father's mysterious ex lover (he's clearly connecting the dots of Kata/ Logan's relationship). Then we have Chei who appears to harbor resentment towards Kata stemming from Chei's own relationship with Dr. Logan during his childhood as well. Logan must have been better than sliced bread apparently if so many people are hung up over him.
