I think that the worst part of these side characters are that they don't really consider the lives of the people who put those quests down if the money isn't good or the quest is just not challenging enough. On this series, together with Goblin Slayer, goblins are obviously a threat to the lives of those who can't defend themselves, or just live far away from the city due to personal circumstances. But the side characters can't be bothered because of riches and challenges.
I know that they do save lives by killing monsters other than goblins, but when..
Spoiler not so spoiler if you are reading goblin slayer
An army of goblins were going to attack a place near the city, orcbolg had to put a gold coin per goblin's head, so that he would receive help. Even if they are helping with other quests, when it comes down to it, they do not care about other people at all. If they did, the simple mention of the fact that an army of monster was going to attack a place near the city (and the house where he is staying at, that belongs to his friend's family) should be enough for them to move their greedy ass.
But nah, let's laugh at that adventurer who got silver rank just by killing goblins and saving thousands of lives...

Yeah, it is refreshing. Mostly if you compare it with other manga of the same storyline. Because this one is more..realistic, you know? Besides, orcbolg won't change the fate of the world, but change the fate of the lives of those around him. Or so it is the impression it gave me up until now.
It's nice.
I don't give a shit about these side mutha fukkas. I am sorry, but not sorry. My man has a goal and y'all shit heads takes this adventure shit like it's Pokémon, until shit hits the fan like MC's life. Fuck these side chracters. He has found his purpose. He knows what happens if he is soft, like he once was. The goal is his life
