Yes awesome band. Look up Mosquito song, go with the flow, another love song, I never came, in my head. Most of from their debut: songs for the deaf. They’re hard to explain. Def rock but they aren’t standard rock. Has like this retro element without sounding retro at all. It’s hard to explain. Dark while not dreary, except mosquito song which is very dark but beautiful. Srsly check them out bc they’re amazing.

There are are only a few bands I gets passionate about like this, Radiohead, Tool, the yeah yeah yeah’s, bands that have that something that makes them stand out. Groups that kids will wear band t shirts of in 20 years bc they stood the test of time. QOTSA feel like that type of group. Josh Homme the lead singer grew up in the CA desert and learned guitar to fight boredom. All the kids played music and you couldn’t sound like anyone else so he created his own sound. That’s why they sound retro even while they don’t. It’s josh homme’s guitar. It’s sounds like the kind of guitar you’d hear in Pulp Fiction. Songs for the deaf by QOTSA & Beck’s Sea Change totally got me through a rough pregnancy with an asshole bf.
