Moreover, these type of things are translated quickly. When mangas get anime adaptations their publisher makes an announcement usually somewhere in the magazine, and translators would definitely see that. The author also has a twitter and never made any announcement. I’m also a fluent Japanese person and I’ve read a lot of Japanese netizens asking for a second season -meaning there clearly isn’t one.

That's a lie. Many "illegal" anime sites have subbed anime that's not released overseas and people would just upload it regardless of whether the company wants to be released there or not.
Idk if this is true or not but my friend told me that the second season of akatsuki no yona is already out and has been for like, a year now but it's only in japan and they won't fucking release it outside of Japan
